Travel Wheels

2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx

We call him "Maxi"

So these are the wheels we are going to be using for this summer's adventure.  The car is pretty good on gas and a smooth ride with a reasonable amount of interior space for comfort.  The kids have a dvd player and there are front and rear sun/moon roofs.  The hatchback has plenty of space for whatever we decide to lug along with us.

I love driving.  Some people already know that about me and some maybe not, but I love to stop as I am enroute to my destinations and have the freedom to change direction whenever I desire.  So I always prefer to drive instead of fly...although there are times when flying is necessary, and I no longer dislike flying.  In fact...I LOVE IT!  I cannot wait to take my son on his first airplane.  My daughter has flown before but that was when she was 5 years old and we took her to Walt Disney World.

One of my favorite places on earth is Florida.  I love Florida and have always been interested in living there.  I also love Hawaii and California.  I suppose I am drawn to miles and miles of coastline in exotic locales?  I want to explore Myrtle Beach this summer and maybe a Theme Park would be fun.  I definitely want to do a waterpark!  Some intense Nature exploration is very much a vital ingredient for the summer of 2012.

Another place I am fond of are Islands of all types...Bora Bora...Bermuda...Puerto Rico, etc.  Yes, I know Hawaii is an Island so before you start thinking that was lost on me...LOL...don't.  I love Prince Edwards Island and Block Island and Nantucket.  Before my days on this planet are over, I would like to vacation in the beauty of the Banff which is in Sascatchewan Canada.

Aside from places, I am a huge fan of little hotels and motels that deliver great service but are easily overlooked becuase of larger chains.  Along the gorgeous 60-mile Boardwalk Shoreline of Myrtle Beach there are some of the oddest little treasure spots.  I hope I get to try one this summer.  In fact, I would love to pitch a tent on the beach and just wing-it.

If I get to travel to the midwest, I would like to see the Grand Canyon, Vegas and the Coastline of Oregon.  I would love to stand at the foot of a Redwood tree and find any unusual treasures between the East Coast and West Coast of the U.s.  I have an atlas, a Sharpie, and a Highlighter Pen...Let's Go!
